Mr. Chanuka Wattegama currently works as an Advisor to the Ministry of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology, appointed by the cabinet.
He has over 26 years’ experience at specialist and management level in government, private sector and International civil society organizations. Central Bank of Sri Lanka, UNDP, ICTA, Softlogic and Bartleet are some of the organisations he has worked. He has also been a visiting lecturer at University of Colombo and Open University. He teaches ‘Information Policy’ for students following the master’s course in Information Systems Management. His expertise is in information and business strategy, telecom policy and regulations, e-Government, ICT for Development, Development Economics and Disaster Risk Reduction.
He has been the founding editor of ‘Wijeya Pariganaka’ magazine, the largest selling monthly IT magazine in Sri Lanka.
